KANHANGAD: Police arrested a madrasa teacher for allegedly sexually assaulting three boys. Ambalathra police sub-inspector Rajagopal M E identified the accused as Abdul Haneefa (38), a native of Vittal in Karnataka.
According to complaints filed by parents, the teacher had been sodomising the three boys, aged 10 and 12 years, for more than one month. "The medical tests of the boys have confirmed the assault," said Rajagopal.
Parents said the children told them about the abuse Sunday evening. By night, residents picked up Haneefa and thrashed him before handing him over to the police.
Haneefa joined the madrasa in Pullur as a teacher two years ago. According to complaints, he was abusing the children for more than one month.
