OnePlus has already announced some software innovations for the new 6T. OnePlus has long ceased to be just hardware, the Chinese price breaker must also offer good software. A good example is Google, which doesn’t even add more modules to its camera, but instead implements innovations almost exclusively through software. OnePlus has announced some improvements for the 6T on its internal forum.

A completely new graphical user interface is promised in the forum, which is simple and fast at the same time. You don’t want to attract attention with superfluous tricks, but your own design language should be visible. Still, we can expect a largely intact Android.

You can expect some features that will improve usability, such as improved Do Not Disturb mode and new navigation gestures.

During use, the software should “stick” more closely to the finger to make the devices function even more natural. The following is reported for gesture control:

With a quick swipe from the bottom of the screen to the right side of the screen, you can switch between the two most recently used apps.

Another thing that gesture control users couldn’t achieve in version 1 was quick access to the Google Assistant. That’s why we added a new action: press and hold the power button for 0.5 seconds to activate the Google Assistant.

Smart software limits applications

AI-based software wants to better measure your usage behavior in order to manage the system more efficiently. If you sleep, the apps are restricted and therefore use less battery. Google already brings such innovations with Android 9.
