Robert Redford puts on his hiking boots in the first trailer for “A Walk in the Woods” and sets off on the Appalachian Trail. We also showed the first trailer for the adaptation of Bill Bryson’s bestseller of the same name.
The German title of the book is much more picturesque: in this country you get the travel diary that Ken Kwapis (“Call of the Whales”) has filmed under the title “Picnic with bears.” The original title, under which the film project is also currently operating in Germany, suggests a sweatier footwork than cozy Vespers in the country: “A walk in the woods.” Robert Redford, who plays author Bill Bryson in the adaptation, takes this walk through the woods. And the hike turns out to be a true hike on the famous Appalachian Trail.
In addition to Redford, Emma Thompson (“Saving Mr. Banks”), Nick Nolte (“Cape Fear”), Mary Steenburgen (“Last Vegas”) and Nick Offerman (“We are the Millers”) are included in the adaptation. The tragicomic adventure begins in the cinema on October 15, 2015.
