Today I have a small but beautiful recipe for delicious hat stars for you. These are really Christmas cookies. And the best part: the recipe is really simple, so kids can help with the cooking and all the steps that go along with it.
Ingredients (for 2 trays)
- 250 g flour
- 1 egg yolk
- 250g butter
- 100 g sour cream
And for the casting (the “hats”)
- 2 egg whites
- 250 g icing sugar
- 200 g of almond leaves
First, all the ingredients of the dough (flour, egg yolk, butter and sour cream) are kneaded. Then the countertop is sprinkled with flour and the dough is spread on top.
The oven is preheated to 180 ° C (circulating air).
Then many stars are cut out of the dough.
For the topping, first beat the egg white until stiff egg whites are obtained. Only then is the powdered sugar gradually added. Finally, add the almond leaves. These must be crumbled a bit when adding them.
Half a teaspoon of the pour is placed in the center of the stars.
Then the stars in the hat are baked on the middle rack, about 10 minutes at 180 ° C.
After baking, the stars need to be cooled down and then nibbled. =)
Enjoy your meal!
The stars are really delicious and they are made in no time. Lilli and Lotte love to bake the hat stars because they help with every step and they can participate.
Hope you enjoy baking and testing!
Have a nice tuesday
your Mari =)
