There are already packing plants throughout Germany, but they are still very few. Swiss Post is now responding by wanting to significantly increase the number of packing stations. This makes it easier for customers to access packages if they cannot be received in person, and should also benefit DHL drivers. There are currently only around 4,000 Packstations in the whole of Germany.

DHL and Post are expanding their networks

Over a period of two years, the network will be expanded by at least 3,000 Packstations, so that eventually around 7,000 Packstations will be available nationwide. The companies involved report that the utilization rate of 12 million registered customers, which was previously too high, should be reduced. Today there are around 4,000 packing stations and 24,000 branches and parcel shops in Germany.

28,000 acceptance points for packages from a single company. An incredible number. Package shipping continues to boom, primarily through online shopping.
