Diesel came up with something very special for his “Rockin` Dots” collection for the summer of 2010. As a small promotional campaign, the label chose a young music band and produced a music video with them in which the new rock stars sport the new collection.
What else if you want to make fashion youth-friendly than putting hot rock stars in designer pieces and letting them bounce in style to rhythmic music? But diesel wouldn’t be diesel if it hadn’t come up with a very clever coup. The new collection not only features any model, but a band that recorded a video in which they properly present Diesel pieces.
However, anyone who now believes that Diesel has nabbed some music greats like Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Wiliams has cut himself off. the Diesel: U: Online Music Community selected The Vanities out of 10,000 unsigned marching bands. A three-piece band from Liverpool, completely unknown until then and doing a kind of rock’n’roll new age-glam. Diesel’s creative team filmed a video with the rockers for their single “Dolly”, in which the three musicians were represented in the summer collection “Rockin` Dots”. In the video, the band and their music are in the foreground, but Diesel’s clothes perfectly match his glamorous look and make the guys look cool and stylish.
Otherwise, the “Rockin` Dots” collection remains absolutely glam rock style. Black and white is the motto and it makes both men and women look like rock stars. The style is kept very simple, there are hardly any big tricks or unusual shapes. The highlights of this collection are occasionally shiny silver jackets, T-shirts or dresses that underline the glamorous look. The only thing missing from this collection is the casual electric guitar, which would complete the set perfectly, but is sadly not yet available for purchase.
The Vanities not only won the extraordinary video recording. They can also go on a world tour and have already played New York, Berlin, Helsinki and Paris. Vienna is next on the agenda.
