EDM instead of soft pop?

Ed Sheeran and Electro? It doesn’t really fit at all. After all, the sweet redhead is better known for his soft “I See Fire” sounds than for his hard e-beats. Although Ed Sheeran has a more poppy tone on his new album “X”, the 23-year-old has never had anything to do with the electro genre… until now!
Apparently Ed Sheeran is currently treading new musical paths. On Instagram the lovable british singer posted a snapshot with EDM (“Electric Dipole Moment”) artist Martin Garrix. Are you working on a song together?
Since his new album “X”, Ed Sheeran is more than happy to have musical collaborations that are no longer a secret. Eventually the talented Brit brought on board colleagues like Pharrell Williams, Taylor Swift and Snow Patrol frontman Johnny McDaid for his new songs. With DJ Garrix, Ed Sheeran leaves his comfort zone of soft guitar music and relies on hard electro beats. The jam session with the successful DJ seems to have pleased the redhead. “I just recorded my first EDM song with Martin Garrix. Great experience, hope I can show it to youEd Sheeran commented on the studio shot.
Ed Sheeran: Are you swapping the guitar for the mixer?
Truly inconceivable that Ed Sheeran will soon be behind the mixer instead of playing the stage on guitar. Will the clever singer soon swap photos of cats and lumberjack shirts for XXL headphones and record players? It is not yet clear when and if the Ed Sheeran and Martin Garrix feature will appear on the music market. But apparently Ed Sheeran is eager to take his fans on a journey into the electronic genre. The 23-year-old was also recently in the studio with star DJ David Guetta. “Two days ago I recorded two songs with David Guetta that someone else will sing. Tomorrow I’ll go to the studio to record songs for myself, ”Ed Sheeran recently revealed to Billboard magazine.
Although Ed Sheeran recently released his second album, we are already waiting for the successor to the cute redhead. Regardless of whether he stays true to his guitar or dives into the crossover genre, with DJ Garrix and David Guetta at the helm, the next LP can only be a hit.
