Samsung is developing new processors for and with Google for future devices, these could be integrated into pixel smartphones.
Samsung and Google should also work more closely in the background, which we will only see on future Android smartphones. In any case, current rumors suggest that Samsung is developing new smartphone processors for Google. The basis should be a 5-nanometer process, as the Samsung and Google ARM processor cores are based on a mix of Cortex A78, A76 and A55; there are eight in all.
This Exynos chip could be featured or even used in early devices this year. Google only relies on its own solutions for the component image signal processor and the artificial intelligence processor. Furthermore, Samsung should now refrain from adapting the ARM processor cores. There has been a lot of criticism for Exynos chips in the recent past, especially in comparison, they didn’t always cut the best figure.
Samsung instead of Qualcomm?
So far, no new Google smartphone has appeared with a new processor. The next few months could be exciting in this regard. With the Pixel 5 it is said that Google no longer depends on the more expensive Qualcomm chip and instead wants to install the Snapdragon 765. Is it just about saving money or is it more?
Such a new processor doesn’t just have to be used in Android smartphones, future Chromebooks are also conceivable. Perhaps Google will also be able to better coordinate software and hardware if you are directly involved in the hardware development process. The previous year, Google had already withdrawn a large number of staff from Qualcomm and Co.
