You almost only do the Internet, privately and professionally, but I still don’t know everything. So far this has also included FlipCar, an app that advertises particularly cheap rental cars. There is a very simple structure behind the offer, with which the rental car providers save some jobs. Instead of allowing employees to drive the offered vehicles for transfer across Germany, interested customers simply do so.
Almost free, because such a trip costs only one euro without incident. It is quite profitable for the company. An employee would incur expenses and not contribute a few euros. Officially, it is not a job for the client, because he has to pay for the car to be provided. In any case, that can be discussed.
Car rental companies have to take their cars from A to B regularly. The FlipCar app shows you at a glance where to take them! If there is a suitable trip for you, you can easily book it in the app. As with a normal car rental, you then pick it up at the station and drop it off at the destination.
Interesting and controversial
Anyone who later receives positive ratings through the app, who registers and rates their trip, receives an additional incentive for additional trips with so-called “FlipCoins”. If booked trips are lost, a penalty applies.
The amount of FlipCoins you receive for your journey depends on how conscientious you are on the go. Are you a safe driver, do not deviate and arrive on time? Perfect, you have earned FlipCoins! After the trip, you will receive an overview of your collected coins and can redeem them directly next time.
One of the downsides is of course the less flexible booking, which is really only suitable for short one-way trips or small adventures. Only 18 cars were available nationwide when I did my research for the article. Online ratings are not particularly positive either. Has anyone in your group already had experience with FlipCar?
