German trailer too "Rambo 5: Last Blood": Sylvester Stallone with his new dubbing voice

There was already something on the ears of Stallone fans in “Creed 2”: After his regular voice actor, Thomas Danneberg, fell ill, Jürgen Prochnow stepped into the breach. And also in the trailer for “Rambo 5” we hear this voice instead of the usual voice.

German audiences are spoiled when it comes to being served films from around the world in their own language; hardly any other country has so much good dubbing. The downside that arises from this, however, is that once you get used to a voice, certain actors associate with it from now on. It is difficult to suddenly come to terms with another person. And that often happens when voice actors don’t have time, they “have to” lend their voices to various characters in a movie (because they talk to their actors regularly) or die while “their actors” are still busy making movies.

After Sylvester Stallone’s spokesman Thomas Danneberg fell seriously ill, he must now be replaced by “Rambo 5: Last Blood,” at least that’s what the German trailer suggests.

Already in “Creed 2 – Rocky’s Legacy”, the eighth episode of the “Rocky” series, some German viewers were surprised when boxing legend Rocky suddenly had a different voice than Danneberg’s now legendary voice in the movies. Actor Jürgen Prochnow (“Das Boot”) chimed in, which was remarkable, but still seemed very appropriate to many fans (and FILMSTARTS readers). In the German trailer it is now, as we think we can hear, Prochnow again, who could gradually (again) establish himself as Stallone’s spokesperson. He also nicknamed the Hollywood warrior in some of his early films and has already been confirmed by the distributor for the final film.

However, it is now unusual not to hear Danneberg in the first German preview of the fifth, supposedly last “Rambo” movie. Even if the trailers are often spoken in different voices than in the final film, in this case it seems like we’re slowly getting used to Stallone’s new German voice. We do not have any information on a possible return from Danneberg.

This is what awaits you in “Last Blood”

John Rambo (Stallone) returns from retirement when he learns that Gabrielle (Yvette Monreal), daughter of his housekeeper María (Adriana Barraza), has been kidnapped by a human trafficking ring in Mexico. So he sharpened his knives again to crush his adversaries without concessions and save the young woman, and for this he associated with the journalist Carmen Delgado (Paz Vega).

After the first “Rambo” movie, which bears the original title “First Blood,” the circle should close the circle with part 5 next fall. “Rambo 5: Last Blood” will hit theaters on September 19, 2019.
