So, to be very clear, there are no cookies hanging from the Christmas tree! So I probably wouldn’t have any more decorations on the tree in an hour on Christmas Eve… you know, ravenous family and such! For this reason, in a classic way, the glass balls hang from the trough and the cookies remain on the plate (for a short time 🙂). Whereupon I decorated a fir tree with Ginger cookies it would be very special.



In any case, the pieces are delicious, easy to bake and, above all, very suitable for baking with children. Then decorate with lots of frosting (yum, so sticky!) And then either chop up or use it as a Christmas package decoration.

I like to do that and then write the respective names on the gingerbread cookies… it looks pretty, it is personal and also sustainable. If you want to use the cookies as a pendant, remember to make a small hole for the string. And by the way: they don’t have to be perfect, they have to be made with love!!!

175 GRAM Hhoney

Put the honey, sugar, and butter in a small, hot saucepan while stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool.

Mix together the flour, gingerbread spices, cocoa, ginger powder and baking powder and mix with the honey mixture together with the egg.

Knead everything to a smooth dough, wrap in aluminum foil and store in the refrigerator for an hour.

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees (150 ° C convection).

Spread some of the dough out onto a fine floured work surface about 1/2 cm thick, cut out the figures of your choice, then place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 7- 10 minutes (depending on size). Let cool. Do the same with the rest of the part.

Beat the egg white until stiff and gradually add the powdered sugar. Color to your liking, put in a pastry bag and decorate the gingerbread with it.

Tip: After baking, the gingerbread cookies are hard, that’s normal. If you put them in a can with an apple slice, they will be mushy in a few days!
