Gmail for Android seems to be getting something new that might not be to everyone’s liking. If you now search the Spam and Trash folders in the Gmail app, a button shown above is missing until further notice. Until now, we have always been able to completely empty these two folders with the push of a button. However, this option has now disappeared. Both my colleagues and I do not have the button to immediately and completely empty these folders in both folders.

Gmail: Google removed two buttons and no one knows why

As before, emails are automatically deleted from these folders after 30 days. It is also possible that we mark multiple emails individually and then delete them manually. In the web version of Gmail, it is still possible to completely delete all spam and trash messages with the push of a button.

To update: It was probably just a bug that is now known.
