Google apps: dark mode for chat, bugs for AR search, YouTube Music on Android TV and new buttons in the Photos app

Google Photos has lost its keys, the range of AR animals in mobile web search is growing and so are complaints about YouTube Music on Android TV.


In the last few days, there has been some news about various Google apps, like the return of familiar buttons for the Google Photos app. Meanwhile, the media player for videos in Google Photos had probably lost the buttons with which you can go back and forward / skip forward. It could have been a bug, because the buttons in question are now reappearing with the latest version of the Photos app.

AR search gets even more animals

Google has again increased the AR capabilities of mobile web search. According to The Verge, there are now numerous insects that we can virtually fly over the screen in our environment. Also, ARCore support is absolutely necessary for the feature. If available, just Google animals on your smartphone and view them in augmented reality or 3D.

Google chat is in dark mode on mobile devices

Another Google app has the dark layout, which is also often referred to simply as dark mode. Now it’s Google Chat that is getting a corresponding update for Android and iOS these days. As is common with other applications, the dark design can be activated according to the system settings or you can turn it on permanently.

YouTube Music Gets “App” for Android TV

For Android TV users, Google now offers a more direct link that takes us faster to the YouTube Music “app”. But it is not yet its own application, just a link to the music section of the YouTube application. This shortcut is now only available directly on the home screen. The problem with the previous solution is the lack of features, such as background playback.
