After an update, the Google Duo now also allows voice calls through Google Home devices without an integrated display. Although the start of the innovation was initially planned for English-speaking users only, colleagues at Android Police were also able to use the innovation in German. Until now, Google Duo only ran on home speakers with an integrated display, but now all assistant speakers are supported.

Google Duo will be compatible with all Assistant speakers

Before we begin, Google Duo must be stored or linked first in the call assistant settings. Open Assistant -> tap the profile picture -> Services -> Voice and video calls.

You can then call other Duo users through Google Home (or Nest). All the user has to do is tell their assistant speaker which contact to call via Google Duo.

In addition, other speakers can be called on your own four walls, so the kitchen speaker can be called from the living room speaker, for example.

The launch has just started, the innovation is not yet available to me.
