Several interesting leaks from 9to5Google show various innovations for the Google Pixel 4 (XL). The data sheet and other information on the expected innovations came to light prematurely. The videos show the completely new functions, including the motion control called Motion Sense or the face unlock using the sensors that are now integrated for the first time on the screen on the front of the new Android smartphones.

Motion Sense: contactless gesture control

Probably the most exciting because it is actually unique is the new Motion Sense. It is a gesture control that works without touching the smartphone. For this, a radar chip is integrated, which recognizes the user’s hand. Probably better than all previous third-party solutions that only used the front camera.

Some small promotional videos show, among other things, the use in everyday life of things like the alarm clock and incoming calls:

Another example shows that Motion Sense will also be found in games. A video shows us “Pokemon Wave Hello” with Motion Sense (alone). For example, you can interact with the characters in the game. We’d bet Google will bring in many more long-term app developers to expand this system to a corresponding number of apps.
