A little scandal is breaking out in the restricted area these days, because Huawei’s Honor Play shouldn’t be getting an update to the new EMUI 10 and Android 10. Not particularly positive news for a flagship smartphone (Aug 2018) that it’s not that old. Honor revealed in a tweet that the Android smartphone hardware would not be able to deliver the required performance and that the new software would have higher system requirements. Those are questionable statements.

Keep your feet still

Quite incredible, because the Honor Play with Kirin 970 and 4 GB of RAM not only has enough hardware under the hood, the source of this report is also “doubtful”. Although it is an official Honor India account, experience has shown that such support accounts can hardly be trusted. Most of the time, employees don’t know what’s really going on behind the scenes in development.

If you own the Honor Play and are disappointed after a year because there might not even be EMUI 10, you have to hold still and wait. At the latest, when there is enough media hype, manufacturers will think again, especially since the similarly equipped Huawei P20 will definitely be updated.
