Currently, Huawei is not only working on its own operating system, it is also entering the streaming business. Specifically, the company is adding a music streaming service to its portfolio. Now it is also starting in Germany with the relevant name of “Huawei Music”.
Huawei has not yet officially announced the service. However, the Huawei Music website is already available right now. In addition, you can now download the APK of the music application from the official home page. If you have a Huawei smartphone, Huawei Music can already be found in the internal app store, the App Gallery.
Huawei Music: Announcement for the competition
Time will tell if Huawei can prevail against established streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, or Google Music. However, it is one more step towards independence when it comes to the general context.
Many details about Huawei’s streaming service still cannot be leaked from the website. The selection of music at market launch is reportedly very large with “millions of titles”. The principle is similar to the competition: you can search for individual songs and play them, create playlists according to your taste, listen to radio stations, or browse and listen to music offline.
The streaming service also reserves the right to suggest specific artists or playlists with specific genres or moods. In addition, you can activate Huawei own functions such as party mode. You can also customize the layout. Huawei Music works from EMUI 5 or higher.
Market launch and price of the streaming service
Huawei Music is now available, also in Germany. Pricing is also based on competition, which is why the music streaming service is available for € 9.99 per month. Credit card payment is currently only possible. It’s unclear if Huawei will offer more payment options over time.
