Huawei is rolling out a long-awaited firmware for the P20 Pro, because it will finally turn off the “Master AI”. Smartphone makers still like to advertise with AI features for cameras, but mostly this is just entertaining buzzword bingo. Huawei also wants to convince with a “Master AI” that was activated by default in the P20 Pro. With the latest update, this situation is reversed, the “Master AI” is turned off and the user must turn it on if necessary.

Often times such functions can only currently shine because they saturate the colors of the respective photo differently. If this is the breakthrough in mobile photography, I dare to doubt it. Huawei now appears to be responding to user feedback, and the 500-megabyte CLT-L29 8.1.9.156 system update is now rolling out (via).
