Huawei presents the new MateBook D14 and D15

Both MateBooks are made of aluminum and have a Full HD IPS screen with narrow bezels. This is possible, among other things, by a retractable camera between the function keys of the keyboard. The MateBook D14 offers a screen size of 14 inches and the MateBook D15 comes in at 15.6 inches.

Specifications for work and multimedia

The technical data of the new MateBooks are identical and more than sufficient for normal work and multimedia use. The processor remains true to AMD and the current Ryzen 3500U installs alongside an integrated AMD Radeon Vega 8 graphics card. This has 8 gigabytes of DDR4 memory available. A 256 or 512 gigabyte SSD is installed for your data. A fingerprint sensor on the home button automatically unlocks the laptop when it starts up or wakes up and makes entering a password superfluous.

Connections:

  • 1x USB-C
  • 1x HDMI
  • 2x USB-A (3x for the MateBook D15)
  • 1x headphone connection

MateBook D14 and D15 differ in battery and weight

The smaller MateBook D14 is equipped with a 65 Wh battery and should have a 9.5 hour battery life. Weighing in at 1.38 kilos, it is very suitable as a mobile companion. The MateBook D15 is slightly heavier at 1.53 kilos. With its 42 Wh battery, it has a battery life of 6.3 hours. Exemplary: Both laptops can be charged with a modern USB-C port and can even be effortlessly charged with a PowerBank on the go. In addition, the laptop’s power supply can also supply power to your smartphone.

No problem with Windows

Unlike Huawei’s problems with Google and Android with smartphones, there are no problems with Microsoft and Windows. Microsoft has received approval from the US authorities to continue to supply Windows licenses to Huawei. This allows Huawei to continue its laptop business as planned.

Free headphones for the Matebook D14 and D15 precomputers
