When “Vogue” boss Anna Wintour takes out her address book and invites the stars and stars of this world to the Met Gala in New York, almost no VIPs cancel their participation. One of the few stars who didn’t make it to the Big Apple yesterday, Monday night, was Jason Derulo. – and yet the musician was the main actor of the evening, at least for Twitter users. While celebrities such as Cara Delevingne, Justin Bieber and Robert Pattinson calmly strolled down the red carpet and allowed themselves to be photographed by the crowd of photographers present, a completely different image circulated online: in this one you can see a man in a white suit who falling headlong down the stairs. For Twitter users, it quickly became clear: the clumsy one must be Jason Derulo.
The news that Jason Derulo fell down the stairs at the Met Gala spread like wildfire across the internet. Before long, the first enemies spoke out, mocking the rapper’s alleged misstep. But it wasn’t long before the first doubts arose: Jason Derulo wasn’t in New York at all, after all. Instead, the 25-year-old came from a completely different corner of America to clear up the misunderstanding. “I am laughing without strength! I’m at a rehearsal in Los Angeles. Fuck everyone! Lol ”, explained the musician a little annoyed through Instagram.

To prove he’s really not at the Met Gala, Jason Derulo adorned his comment with a photo showing him on the mic. While the hip-hop star set things straight from his point of view, the question arises as to how this misunderstanding came about. The answer: A Twitter user probably wanted to have fun with Jason Derulo. Finally, “E! News “meanwhile, found that the shocking photo of the falling man did not come from this year’s Met Gala, but from the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. A mistake can therefore be ruled out.
The Jason Derulo incident shows how quickly misinformation can spread on the Internet. However, the singer could have taken the hysteria of the Twitter community with a little more humor …
