The Super Bowl is one of the biggest sporting and television events of the year, topped off by its own halftime show, which can be seen by even more people than the actual game. It’s no wonder that even a professional artist like Katy Perry needed a little encouragement before her performance.
Very often, you don’t realize Katy Perry’s roots as the daughter of a pastor. The singer loves colorful and unusual things, wears skimpy stage outfits, and barely mints her mouth. However, the “Dark Horse” singer apparently needed a little encouragement from above for her great performance at the Super Bowl halftime break. As Katy Perry announced in a red carpet interview at this year’s Grammys, she received a sign from God before her performance.
This year’s Super Bowl XLIX broke a record with more than 114 million people watching the event in the United States alone. Around the world, an estimated 800 million people have watched it, including Katy Perry, who performed five of her songs at the halftime show. And although the singer must have been very nervous inside, it was not noticeable by her emotion. The reason for her self-confidence for this gargantuan performance was apparently a sign that Katy Perry is said to have received in conversation with God. “I prayed and I got an answer from God and he told me: ‘You can do it and I’m there for you,'” said the singer in an interview with “E! Entertainment price.
Katy Perry: believe in God and train hard
But God didn’t just support Katy Perry in prayer before her big performance. As she stood on top of the giant robot lion that she entered the stadium in, a crew member she had never seen before looked her straight in the eye and also said, “You can do it!” “I immediately thought, ‘Oh, that’s God confirming that I can do this,’” Katy Perry said of her divine enlightenment. The hard training also helped the singer withstand the pressure of the big show. “We had a whole month to prepare,” explains the 30-year-old.
Katy Perry absolutely rocked the Super Bowl halftime show, whether it’s by a divine sign or her hard training is a matter of faith. In any case, we are pleased that Katy Perry has come so far with her trust in God.
