In the niche of gaming smartphones, more and more Android makers are nesting recently, and Lenovo is also planning a very special copy.
Gaming smartphones are a species unto themselves, especially when it comes to their technical build and appearance. Lenovo is no exception, as the first images show. Legion will be unveiled soon, a new gaming smartphone with all kinds of crazy technical features. One of the crazy parts of this hardware is the 90W fast charging. Lenovo writes: “Dual 90W Type-C Fast Charge, 30 Minutes 100%.” Like, actually two USB ports? Yes and no!
Lenovo uses a well-known trick. While USB-C supports up to 100W, that’s a bit high for classic smartphone batteries. Instead, Lenovo splits the 5000 mAh battery. There are two battery units, each 2,500 mAh, each of which is charged at 45 W. However, there are also two USB-C ports, one of which is on the side of the case. It is currently unclear whether you actually have to operate both connections on power for a 90W fast charge.
Technically, it’s not the only special feature, namely the sound of “fully symmetrical dual 65mm speakers” and a heat pipe system to cool the internal hardware (Snapdragon 865, LPDDR5 RAM).
This phone is insane!
The rear main camera position is already unusual, but the front camera is even crazier. A pop-up camera is installed, just in a different place. This camera extends out of the housing to one side and not up. That makes sense too, because I’m looking forward to streaming features for Twitch and Co. You’ll be able to gamble and film yourself at the same time.
Last but not least, Lenovo offers a special vibration motor and a 144Hz display with 270Hz touch recognition.
