In early August 2018, Motorola introduced the Moto Z3 – the American flagship was one of the first smartphones to support 5G. However, the cell phone never appeared in Germany. A year later, history repeats itself: Motorola has presented the successor, the Moto Z4. It will also be compatible with 5G and will not arrive in Germany at the moment. However, there are some things that have changed.
The biggest innovation of the Moto Z4 is the processor: while previous models were always equipped with Qualcomm’s high-class chips, this time only a mid-range SoC is used. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 can be found, for example, in the Samsung Galaxy A70, an upper mid-range cell phone. The rest of the technical teams are at a similar level. 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable up to 512GB, are the current standard on the market.
Moto Z4: 48 megapixels and 5G per Mod
The OLED screen of the mobile phone is 6.4 inches and has a resolution of Full HD + (1,080 x 2,340 pixels). The battery has a nominal charge of 3,600 mAh and charges especially quickly via USB 3.1 Type-C with 15 watts. Wireless charging is only possible through Moto-Mod. Speaking of Moto-Mod: 5G is only available for Moto Z4 if you buy the corresponding expansion. Like its predecessors, Motorola’s new cell phone can also be expanded in a modular way. In the US, for example, the 360-degree camera is available as an accessory at no charge if you reserve the smartphone.
Motorola would also like to pay special attention to the Moto Z4’s camera. As with many high-class models, a 48-megapixel sensor is also used. This should allow the cell phone to take particularly good pictures. Thanks to the new “Night Vision” mode, even in low light. According to the manufacturer, the same applies to the front camera. A 25 megapixel sensor is used there.
The Moto Z4 does not arrive in Germany
Like its predecessor, the Moto Z4 will not arrive in Germany at the moment. The cell phone remains limited to the US market for now. In the US, the smartphone will be available starting June 13 and will cost just under $ 500. Due to a breakdown at online retailer Amazon, the first customers received a device a few days ago, even before the official presentation.
