Motorola Razr price: that’s how expensive the folding phone is in Europe

Motorola Razr in der Hand

Foldable or foldable smartphones have been big and expensive until now. Motorola has broken with at least one of the two features. The Razr is small. And when you fold it, it gets even smaller. But what is the price of the Motorola Razr?

Germans have to wait

First of all: the Razr will no longer appear on the German market this year. Motorola has announced it for the first half of 2020. Consequently, there are no prices for Germany. But a look across the country’s borders reveals a lot about the likely price of the Motorola Razr in Germany.

Let’s start with the markets where the Razr goes first. These countries are Italy, Great Britain and Sweden. There the prices are filtered through network operators or mobile phone providers. The Razr will probably not be used on the free market. The reason for this is the built-in eSIM, which is still quite rare and requires an intense partnership with the corresponding mobile provider.

Prices in Europe are filtered: that’s how expensive the Motorola Razr is

But for canned goods: in Sweden, mobile operator Tele2 will charge the equivalent of a whopping 1,690 euros. It will be on sale there starting January 24, 2020. In the United States, a price tag of 1,499 was announced when the Motorola Razr was launched. The mobile operator here is Verizon. In Italy, according to Androidpit, a price of 1,599 euros is required. It should be available to pre-order in December. Letsgodigital also expects around 1,600 euros for the Dutch market.

This should set the German price of the Motorola Razr at least to an upper and lower limit. It is probably set between 1,600 and 1,700 euros, according to the mobile phone provider. Here, however, we assume the pure price of the hardware. It remains to be seen how expensive the contract and Razr packages will be. According to our information, Motorola is in negotiations with mobile operators. Which are? It remains a secret. When we asked Motorola, the manufacturer did not want to reveal any details. Meanwhile, the selection is wide. O2, Vodafone and Telekom offer the necessary eSIM, but the parent companies continue to neglect the discount stores of the latter two.
