Video chat: Google deja a la competencia en sus pantallas inteligentes

Nest Hub recognizes users in its environment and reacts to them

Video chat: Google leaves the competition on its smart screens

Google Nest Hub users can now also use ultrasound detection in Germany.

Google presents an innovation for Nest Hub (Google Home), also for German users, with which the voice assistant automatically detects users in the immediate vicinity and executes functions. Ultrasonic. Google’s main goal is to help users struggling with a visual impairment. Google had announced the expansion of ultrasound features and early readers informed us of new sliders in the Nest Hub settings.

Google Introduces Ultrasound Capabilities for Voice Assistants

We wanted to create a better experience for the visually impaired. That is why we are committed to allowing more people to view our screen from any distance in a room without compromising the useful information that the nearby screen can display. The result is what we call an ultrasonic sensor.

Ultrasound for timers, reminders, and more

Ultrasonic measurement already works for timers, travel times, and weather. In the next week, reminders, appointments and warnings will also appear on your devices when you get close to the screen. Since it uses low resolution detection technology, ultrasound detection is done entirely on the device and can only capture large-scale movements (such as a person in motion) without realizing who the person is.

Enable or disable ultrasonic detection:

  1. Open the Google Home application Google Home application.
  2. Go to device settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Ultrasonic Detection setting.
  4. Move the slider to on or off.
