For a few months now, Xiaomi has been rumored to be working on its own smartwatch. The clock will be displayed for the first time next week. Until now there had been no actual leaks of the Mi Smartwatch, we knew very little about the Smartwatch until today. The first teaser shows just a few, but the first details.

It starts with the shape of the case, which is clearly square. Visually, My Smartwatch will get closer to the Apple Watch, also thanks to the rotating crown on the right edge of the case. Manufacturers don’t have much leeway when it comes to the sheer shape of the case.

What operating system is on board?

Other details include, for example, an NFC module with which you can pay in taxis, trains and other such facilities, at least in China. You can also see a musical note. Music should therefore be audible through the Mi Smartwatch, for example, thanks to a direct connection to Bluetooth headphones.

The only question that remains is the 4G radio and what operating system is on board. In fact, I have an Android base, which has been heavily modified by Xiaomi. Wear OS is not at the top of my list now because the manufacturer will initially only plan for the domestic market without Google services. Until now, Xiaomi Huami (Amazfit) partners have relied mainly on their own software.

But speculating should make little sense at this point. We will find out more details through leaks or we will have everything shown directly from Xiaomi on the day of the presentation, November 5, 2019 at the latest. Some progress can be expected over the next week and a half, at least that would be typical for Xiaomi.
