About a year and a half ago it was announced that David Fincher’s thriller “Mindhunter” will have a second season. Producer Charlize Theron has now revealed when it will appear on Netflix.
When we looked back at the best series of the year at the end of 2017 and created a leaderboard from them, it became completely clear to us that the Netflix production “MINDHUNTER” by star director David Fincher (“Fight Club”) was one of the best. It must occupy places. In the end, the suspense series even made it to the top of the gold rank! We justify this decision as follows:
“The air is thin when FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) interview several serial killers in the late 1970s, the conversation could tip in either direction at any time. In these brilliantly acted and to the point scenes, who reads the thoughts of who or who has the psychological advantage can hardly be clearly identified. […] The series, which is based on true events, is also very interesting because it shows a society in turmoil: Holden and Bill’s new approach to creating psychological profiles of murderers in the sense of crime prevention suits some older colleagues who want to stick to the tried and tested art of research. No way. However, the pioneering work of the two has captivated us more than any other series this year. “
And for everyone who thought “MINDHUNTER” was as cool as us, there’s good news: As a guest on the Howard Stern Show, Charlize Theron (“Mad Max: Fury Road”), co-producer of the series, revealed That the second season will appear on Netflix in August of this year! However, he has not yet given an exact date.
Charles Manson in the second season of “Mindhunter”
It was already announced in November 2017 that Netflix will send the David Fincher series in the second round. And when the time finally comes in about three months, we can expect some popular murder cases. In an interview with Vulture confirmed former FBI agent John E. Douglas, on whose novel “The Murderer’s Soul” the series is based, recently again, that the next season of “MINDHUNTER” will be about the murders of Charles Manson and his Manson family.
The famous murderer, who died in 2017, is by the way Damon Herriman (“Justified”) he plays the exact same role in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon A Time In… Hollywood”. This will hit theaters in Germany on August 15, 2019; consequently, Herriman will be seen twice as Charles Manson in August. Other famous criminal cases that are dealt with in the second season of “MINDHUNTER” are the murders of David Berkowitz, who became famous as “Son of Sam” and killed six people in the 1970s, and the murders of children in Atlanta: This is the name of a series of murders that claimed at least 28 lives between 1979 and 1981.
