In recent weeks, OnePlus had already shown its first TV very frequently in advance with trailers and repeatedly leaked individual details. The first OnePlus TV has been officially unveiled in India, initially with a 55 ″ model and a Samsung QLED panel. Ultra HD (4K) is the maximum resolution, Dolby Vision and HDR10 + are in the data sheet of the new OnePlus TV Q1 (Pro).

In a first test, however, it became clear that the simple remote should not be so intuitive, precisely because the smartphone-style volume buttons are difficult to use. There is Android TV with a 3-year update guarantee, the 50W 8.1 integrated soundbar (Pro model, integrated via sliding mechanism) has excellent sound according to Androidcentral and the picture quality is also convincing.

Samsung technology and Google software

Android TV is pre-installed, but OnePlus also offers its own interface (OxygenPlay). In the beginning, however, there is no Netflix app, but this only affects the Indian market for the moment. With the additional OnePlus Connect smartphone app, the TV can be seamlessly controlled via your mobile device.

The model is supposed to cost the equivalent of 900 euros without an elaborate soundbar, the Pro model with a total of eight speakers costs four digits. It’s easy to say: OnePlus offers Samsung’s QLED with Android TV, while Samsung itself relies on Tizen.
