Google wants to improve the 90Hz display on the Pixel 4 with an update. The smooth screen of the Google Pixel 4 is controversial because it has some “disruptive factors.” This includes the restriction that 90 Hz is only available from a certain screen brightness level. Google reacted fairly quickly to these reports with a statement containing good news for critics.

On its average, Google once again emphasizes that the smooth display should work smartly, so it is not limited to stubbornly running at 90Hz. Google’s new smartphones automatically switch to 60Hz when 90Hz is not required, and therefore they only unnecessarily charge the battery. This includes “Even different brightness or environmental conditions.” Google has now responded to criticism in recent days.

More 90 Hz for Pixel 4: an update is coming

“We have already planned updates that we will present in the coming weeks. This includes activating 90 Hz under additional brightness conditions. ” (TheVerge)

At the moment, the 90 Hz mode is disabled from a screen brightness of 75 percent, which makes some international colleagues uncomfortable. Personally, I haven’t noticed any downsides, somehow the smooth display seems quite smartly implemented. However, Google adapts to the wishes of the community, which we value positively.
