Several high-end smartphones from Samsung can be unlocked quite easily along with screen protectors. Due to a bug, the smartphones recognize and accept fingerprints that are not even stored on the respective device. This story first emerged a few days ago, now the manufacturer has also commented on it in their own newsroom and gives some important details.

Instead of rejecting fingerprints, they are simply accepted

Galaxy Note 10 and S10 series devices are affected. If protective films are installed, the fingerprint sensor on the screen may be irritated accordingly. Instead of not recognizing a finger, all fingerprints are simply accepted. A fatal bug that will soon be fixed with a software update.

Samsung recommends removing the protective film and users should also fully re-store their fingerprints. Only one update will be distributed next week, with which Samsung will reset the affected sensors.
