DSDS Candidate Sarah Engels is not only a passionate singer, she is also a fan of the “Twilight” series. Can that help you get ahead?
Sarah Engels was born on October 15, 1992 in Cologne. The 18-year-old lives with her parents and her brother Ginaluca (13) in Hürth, near Cologne. She is currently pursuing her high school diploma with an additional school education as a language assistant and works once a week as a temporary worker in the pizza service. In her spare time, Sarah is passionate about singing, going swimming regularly, and meeting friends. She is also a huge fan of “Twilight.” He especially likes the character of Edward played by Robert Pattinson. Sarah has two rituals: before going to sleep, she should always pray. “Otherwise, I can’t fall asleep.” And after every meal he eats a gummy bear or two. “I need that so I can feel really full,” says Sarah. The student is single and doesn’t want to fall in love right now, because she just wants to focus on DSDS.
Sarah has been singing since she was eleven years old and took singing lessons for four years. He has often performed at street parties. At the casting, she sang “Run” by Leona Lewis and convinced the jury. She was also able to inspire in retirement. With “Hurts” by Christina Aguilera she was one of the protagonists of the Maldives. Sarah is very ambitious and knows exactly what she wants. Unfortunately, her nerves are not always under control. This was her undoing last year at the 2009 retirement. In the duet with Eugen Flittner (now with Black Pony) she was too nervous about having trouble with the text and was dropped. This year’s participation in “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” means a lot to her, because this time she wants to go far to fulfill her dream of being a successful singer.
Sarah Engels had to leave DSDS after the first show of the motto, but she got a new chance for the third and now replaces Nina Richel.
