Actress, mother and singer: Scarlett Johansson seems to have many talents. Now the 30-year-old has founded a girl band called “The Singles.” You can now listen to the first song of the five ladies on YouTube!
Few know that Scarlett Johansson has worked as a singer alongside her acting career for years. Not only did he appear at the famous Coachella Festival, but he even released two solo albums in 2008 and 2009: “Anywhere I Lay My Head” and “Break Up.” He also sang the song “Before My Time” for the documentary “Chasing Amy,” which was even nominated for best song at the 2013 Oscars. Since then, he has become musically silent about the beautiful New Yorker. But that should end now!
Scarlett Johansson doesn’t seem to be fully occupied with the dual role of a successful mother and actress. Because the blonde bombshell founded a girl band called “The Singles.” In an official press release, Scarlett Johansson explains her band idea in the following words: “The idea was to make super pop dance music written and performed by girls.” To implement this plan, the “Lucy” actress brought in female reinforcements: bassist Este Haim and singers Holly Miranda, Kendra Morris and Julia Haltigan will be on stage in the future with Scarlett Johansson as “The Singles”.
Scarlett Johansson: The first single is called “Candy”
The first single from “The Singles” was released on YouTube last Friday. “Candy” sounds good humor, but the dark rhythms in the background also add seriousness to the song. It’s a bit reminiscent of “Dancing on my Own” by the Swedish singer Robyn. “It should sound like these bands: ultra-pop, but with a touch of irony,” Scarlett Johansson explained in the press release, naming the Bangles, Grimes and the Go-Gos as influences. You can definitely hear that.
It seems that Scarlett Johansson is one of those people who were born with a multitude of talents. Hopefully with “The Singles” she can build on the success of her acting career. If not, Scarlett Johansson has enough time to dedicate herself to her husband Romain Dauriac and their daughter Rose Dorothy.
