WhatsApp will soon receive another feature that is already known from other messaging apps. WhatsApp will offer us that the messages disappear automatically from the chats. These are messages that, presumably at least after being read, are automatically removed from the chat log. As a user, of course, there can be several reasons why you want this. WABetaInfo already has the first screenshots for us, as the innovation could be activated in the Android app.

WhatsApp will soon allow automatic deletion of messages

WhatsApp will definitely introduce automatic deletion for groups, as the early leak of the upcoming feature shows. Innovation is still in an early stage of development today, so there aren’t many options when it comes to the time after which a message automatically disappears. So far only 5 seconds and 60 minutes are available.

It is not yet known when the self-delete messages will be available to all users on WhatsApp and to what extent this will eventually happen. We and our colleagues expect a launch for both group chats and private chats, but the start date is by no means predictable.
