MG Héctor Plus Rival Tata Gravitas

Tata Gravitas camouflaged testing detected prior to launch

Recently, images of Tata Gravitas disguised in camouflage appeared on the web. Tata Gravitas is essentially a seven-seater variant of its current flagship Tata Harrier SUV.

This seven-seater SUV will be supported by the same platform as the Harrier. However, the test mule suggests slight design changes such as a redesigned bumper to give it a distinctive appeal.

Tata Gravitas was first shown at the 2020 auto show. After that, the SUV was seen under test several times. However, this time we noticed a new set of alloy wheels. We don’t know if the same set of alloys will make it to production models.

Aside from this, sources suggest that Tata Gravitas will share the engine with his brother Harrier. It will be powered by a 2.0-liter BS6 compliant diesel engine capable of producing 168 hp and 350 Nm of peak torque. Like the Harrier, it will be available with manual and automatic transmission.

When launched, the Tata Gravitas will compete with the MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV 500.

Does Tata Motors adopt MG’s strategy?

We all know the rivalry between Tata Harrier and MG Hector. Both cars are quite impressive and have similar specs. Also, these two SUVs were launched around the same time.

Tata is now planning to release a larger version of the Tata Harrier, which looks quite familiar to what MG did with Hector.

This Chinese-owned British automaker recently launched a seven-seater variant of the MG Hector, which they call it by adding one more suffix.

However, Tata Gravitas was planned long before the release of MG Hector Plus and that could be a confidence.
