The cult series continues: a spin-off too "Sons of Anarchy" comes from

So now: “Sons Of Anarchy” continues. The inventor of the series, Kurt Sutter, is working on a spin-off for the cult series. The focus is no longer on the Sons, but on another well-known motorcycle gang from the series, the Mayans.

How TVLine and the Hollywood reporter According to unanimous reports, Kurt Sutter is working on a spin-off about a year after the end of “Sons Of Anarchy.” Sutter, who is also the author of the movie “Southpaw,” announced a while ago that he would not leave the world of “Sons Of Anarchy.” So far, though, he’s deemed a spin-off unlikely and instead put a prequel into play that could be about the time the motorcycle club was founded.

Now comes a spin-off with the Mayans at its heart. This is a motorcycle club whose members are exclusively of Hispanic descent. The Mayans and the Sons crossed swords several times during the original series, but they also cooperated repeatedly.

It is not yet known if the new series is scheduled after, before or in parallel to the plot of “Sons Of Anarchy.” Therefore, it is impossible to predict to what extent there will be guest appearances by well-known actors or how many of them will even be part of the usual cast. But it is logical that Emilio Rivera, who played Mayan president Marcus Álvarez, should play an important role.

The focus of “Sons Of Anarchy” is a motorcycle club that controls the small town of Charming. Even if you are committed to the community, you make your money primarily through illegal businesses, especially arms smuggling. Crown Prince Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) doubts this path and wants to lead the Sons into a different future. Until then, however, a lot of blood will be spilled and he will clash with his president and stepfather Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman) and his mother Gemma Teller Morrow (Katey Sagal), who have several bodies in the basement …

Kurt Sutter will develop and also produce the spinoff for his hit series, but will likely hire another lead author for day-to-day business. He himself is already busy with his new medieval series “The Bastard Executioner.” This begins September 15, 2015 in the US.
