Under Android 10, Google gives us several options to control the software on our smartphone. But if we want to use the new Google Assistant, then we have to activate the new gesture control. Google confirmed this when asked. For us German users this is not the only condition, we have to wait until next year until we can use the new Google Assistant on our German Pixel smartphones.

The new gesture control is a requirement for the new Google Assistant

With Android 10, Google introduces a completely new gesture control system. There are no buttons, we slide from bottom to top, from left to right and vice versa. I’m with him on the Pixel 3 and I’m really impressed. But I have heard negative comments, many people prefer to use the classic “navigation bar” with three buttons.

So far it is also not known if the new Google Assistant will only remain on the Pixel 4 or if it will be added to the Pixel 3 and Pixel 2 later on. In reality, fast and local processing of voice commands is also completely dependent on the Pixel 4 having a new neural core.
