Qualcomm and Google have not exactly covered themselves with fame in recent years, the processors in Wear OS watches have not been particularly powerful in recent years and there has been little news. In terms of system performance, the expected leap could finally be made that will raise Wear OS to the level currently required. The upcoming Snapdragon 3300, a portable processor with newer processor cores, was rediscovered.

The new Snapdragon 3300 is much more modern

A much more modern frame width and higher clock rates would not only give the Snapdragon 3300 better performance compared to its predecessors, but would of course also require significantly less power at peak performance. The new 3300 would have 4 Cortex-A53 cores with 12nm on board, while the older 3100 only had 4 Cortex-A7 cores at 28nm.

However, until now it is not known when the new 3300 will be presented and when it might even be available for new smartwatches. Possibly not until next year, from CES in January or at the latest in March for the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
