Path is, or rather: war, a social network for smartphones that wanted to connect you with your closest friends and family. After eight years of brave operation, the news came: We are closing. I came across Path a long time ago when I got my first smartphone. The idea actually sounded really cool, a private network for photos and messages that you only want to share with a small group. Plus, smartphone-only access was groundbreaking and exciting at the time, and the app looked sleek and modern by the standards of the time. But obviously that was not enough to continue the service after eight years.
It is with deep regret that we announce that we will stop providing our beloved service, Path. We started Path in 2010 as a small team of passionate and experienced designers and engineers. Over the years we have tried to chart our mission: through technology. and design, we aim to be a source of happiness, meaning and connection for our users. Throughout our journey we have laughed and cried with you, and have learned valuable lessons. And now it is inevitable to end the service to prioritize our work and serve you with better products and services. It has been a long journey and we sincerely thank each of you for your years of love and support for Path.
Support ends in November
As of October 1, it should no longer be possible to obtain and update the application through the Google Play Store and App Store. After October 18, access will be blocked and customer support will also be discontinued on November 15. If you have actually used Path, you can create a backup and download it. Even recently subscribed premium accounts will be refunded.
