- Predictable recommendation: already planned in 2019
From 2021 to 2024 go up to 18.36 euros?
The KEF calculates a contribution to the issue of 18.36 euros based on the deficit. This would mean an increase of 86 cents compared to the current round from 2017 to 2020. However, at the moment, this is only a recommendation from the Commission. The KEF report now falls to the chairman of the broadcasting commission of the federal states, the Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate, Malu Dreyer.
ZDF, ARD and Deutschlandradio had announced an uncovered financial requirement of € 3.035 billion before the KEF was calculated. This would have resulted in a monthly transmission fee of 19.24 euros. The now reduced value of the KEF is produced by examining some cost centers. The KEF reports that they could reduce a whopping € 1.51 billion of claims. It has cut expenses by a good 700 million euros, but has increased the profit forecast by almost 600 million euros. To do this, it corrected the eligible assets by a good 200 million euros.
