LG had already revealed various details about the V40 in recent weeks, now the multimedia flagship is officially unveiled. The V series has been around for a few years, which LG always presents in the fall of the respective year. The focus has always been on special features and more recently multimedia, which the camera aims to emphasize this year. There are a whopping three modules in the back and two in the front. So a total of five cameras that the V40 has.

Now that the functionality of the rear camera goes well beyond the wide angle, LG can also offer a telephoto zoom. In addition, many functions thanks to the integrated AI, which is one of the reasons why “ThinQ” is added in the name of the device. Other multimedia highlights will be the 32-bit Quad-DAC, as well as an integrated speaker system for particularly rich mobile sound. A 6.4-inch OLED panel is used for the notch display.

There is currently high-end hardware for the unit, the data memory is at least 64 gigabytes, and a fingerprint sensor is usually installed on the back. Basically, LG offers an attractive package that focuses on sound and camera. But we’d like to doubt if that goes beyond the insignificance of the latest LG smartphones.

At this point I want to criticize the fact that LG no longer has its own identity. LG has lost the style of recent years, the power button has disappeared from the back and the KI button on the left frame also looks more like an unimaginative copy of Samsung’s S phones. It’s hard for me to find a point that definitely speaks for the V40.

Other key data: 3300 mAh battery, IP68 case, Android 8.1 (WTF?), Quick Charge 4, USB-C, 6 gigabytes of RAM, Snapdragon 845, microSD slot.
