A feature that has been expected for years is just around the corner for WhatsApp Messenger. Multi-device support is new development breakthroughs.
WhatsApp will allow the use of one account on multiple devices in the future. Until now, WhatsApp could only be used on a smartphone. The maximum connection to other devices is through WhatsApp Web and only in a single instance. Everything should improve, we hope so and it has already been confirmed today. Other screenshots show development progress for multi-device compatibility.
According to Wabetainfo, the WhatsApp team is currently working on the graphical interface for “linked devices”. WhatsApp is looking and testing where you can place the menu items for the new feature. Based on prior knowledge, there should be a link to manage connected devices directly in the main menu (3-dot button). In my opinion, this is also logical for a highly sought after position.
“Use WhatsApp on other devices”
In the new connected devices area, of course, you can see all the connected devices and their latest activity. From there, additional devices can be added at any time. Currently, it seems to be planned that a WhatsApp account can be activated on a maximum of four devices at the same time. In the description only the browser, computer and portal are mentioned, we also expect for tablets and other smartphones.
The connection to the devices can also be disconnected in this menu. There are also screenshots for this:
Dark mode suggests long wait times
There is only one “problem” at this time. The new feature for using WhatsApp on multiple devices is still under development. So far there is no start date, not even foreseeable. Every now and then you can see that WhatsApp developers are making regular progress. But we know from the dark way that development is a very long process. Another challenge is the encryption of chats. This should also be ensured if the user uses their WhatsApp account on multiple devices at the same time.
